Gender Justice Lead

Cheryl Yugi is a human rights lawyer who currently leads the Gender justice work at ARTICLE 19 Eastern Africa where she champions digital literacy and security for women online alongside advocating against Tech Assisted Violence against women. Prior to joining ARTICLE 19 she served at the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA), where she worked on Democratic Governance processes through political parties, Electoral Management Bodies, Judiciary as well as various state agencies across Africa. She has also previously worked at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as an eligibility officer assisting victims of torture and post conflict survivors. She was nested at the Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA Kenya) Secretariat under the Women and Governance unit.
